AVT Advances State-of-the-Art Automated Retailing With New Silo Systems

New Reduced-Footprint System Allows More Opportunities For Placements in Key Strategic Areas

CORONA, Calif., Feb. 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- AVT, Inc. (formerly Automated Vending Technologies) (Pink Sheets:AVTC.pk - News) (www.avtinconline.com) announced today that they have developed a new line of Automated Retailing Systems called "Silo," which have significant advantages over all other systems currently on the market.

The new systems feature innovative and advanced features such as complete transaction data storage and remote retrieval, continuous self-testing and diagnosis, programmable product expiration dates, multi color lighting, customized finish details and unique options for elevator product "soft" delivery.

According to Shannon Illingworth, AVT founder, the new Silo Systems are at the cutting edge of the automated retailing industry. "Everything about these systems is superior - from the motor (which has an unheard of 10-year warranty) to the proprietary technology that manages the accounting, on-screen advertising, and spectacular customer interface."

The new Silo units are also the first to feature a compact footprint, which allows placement in more locations than ever before, including college campuses, airports, hotels, shopping malls, and apartment complexes. "The engineering and design teams at AVT worked diligently to pack all these features into a smaller machine," Illingworth commented. "Now, operators have more opportunities to create a brand and sell product in areas that were previously under-served."

The Silo Systems also feature a unique adjustable architecture, which provides for a customized fit for products of all types, sizes and shapes. Items as diverse as bathing suits and board shorts, DVDs and games, perfume and fragrances, can all be sold in this one machine.

"This is more than a vending machine," Illingworth said. "This represents the future of retailing industry. Now for a fraction of the investment in a new retail store, anyone can be in business, selling the hottest products direct to customers, with almost no overhead, no theft, no-one calling in sick, and availability 24-hours a day. It's a new spin on the American Dream."

AVT patent pending technology positively impacts childhood obesity

AVT’s customer H.U.M.A.N. healthy vending (linkto http://www.healthyvending.com/aboutus/press) recently installed a number of healthy vending machines in schools in the Florence Unified School District (FUSD) in Arizona.

Two machines are at Poston Butte High School, and one machine is at Skyline Ranch, Circle Cross Ranch and Walker Butte K-8 schools.

The Florence Unified School District (FUSD) has seen the statistics regarding childhood obesity and decided enough is enough. They have implemented Project IMPACT FUSD in the hopes of influencing students to live healthier lives.
They have implemented Project IMPACT FUSD in the hopes of influencing students to live healthier lives.

The machines are owned and operated by AVT’s distributor, H.U.M.A.N Healthy Vending and are being provided to the school free of charge. They boast 18-inch LCD monitors, credit card options and most importantly, only offer healthy choices, as recommended in the Gold Level of the US Healthier School Challenge.

It is no secret that America's youth are getting heavier by the day. High calorie meals and an increasingly sedimentary lifestyle are leading them down the path to health concerns and a decreased quality of life -- these aren't your parents vending machines...they're much healthier.

Project IMPACT FUSD Director, Dr. Christopher Lineberry explained that, thanks to the IMPACT program, FUSD is in the process of applying for official Gold Level recognition. "It is our hope that through the improvements... FUSD can not only meet the academic and intellectual needs of our students, but can help to promote better health and increase longevity as well,

As part of Project IMPACT FUSD, the district has partnered with the Greater Valley Area Health Education Center to provide staff members with monthly health and wellness classes. In addition to providing information, these classes allow staff to complete a variety of fitness tests to check their own overall levels of fitness.
